Yuki Tasaka is a Chicago-based mixing and mastering engineer and a record producer. Early in his career, he worked as an assistant engineer at several renowned studios in Chicago, before becoming the exclusive engineer/programmer for house music legend Vince Lawrence. During his seven years with Lawrence, he developed dance and pop music production expertise.

As a freelancer, Yuki collaborated extensively with indie artists, bands, and producers, taking on various roles such as engineer, track maker, instrumentalist, and DJ. He also provided support in audio engineering, audiovisual technology, and teaching at Chicago Public Schools and After School Matters, and has worked as an instructor at Glencoe Academy of Music.

Yuki’s primary focus is his work as an engineer for Lupe Fiasco’s label, 1st & 15th. He supports the label’s production team, Op3n Session, working on music production for Lupe and other artists. Through this role, Yuki has refined his skills in hip-hop production while also gaining experience as a trackmaker. He continues to work as a freelance audio engineer, musician, and producer in Chicago while maintaining his work as an instructor.
